Papers - Now Closed

Our call for listed papers, non-listed papers and extended abstracts for the 24th Australasian Fluid Mechanics Conference (AFMC 2024) has now closed (9 August 2024). The submitted manuscripts have been reviewed, with almost all notifications sent to corresponding authors (19 Sept 2024).

If you have been asked to make edits of your manuscript, please do this by 3 Oct 2024. We also note that each accepted manuscript must have a separate presenter, and all presenters will need to register for the conference by 15 Oct 2024.

The poster submissions have already been accepted. If you are a poster presenter, a link is available on Easychair for you to submit your poster.

    Notes on Submission Types:
There are four submission types for AFMC2024. The posters have been accepted, while the papers and extended abstracts have been subject to a second peer review process.
    1. Listed paper (6-8 pages): These will be listed individually in the proceedings, and have been subject to a standard peer review process (2 episodes). There will be an oral presentation associated with each submission.
    2. Non-listed paper (6-8 pages): These will be included in the proceedings as a single PDF file, and have been subject to a shorter peer review process (2 episodes). There will be an oral presentation associated with each submission.
    3. Extended abstract (2 pages): These will be included in the proceedings as a single PDF file, and have been subject to a shorter peer review process (2 episodes). There will be an oral presentation associated with each submission.
    4. Posters: Digital submissions of posters will be included in the proceedings as a single PDF file. These have been subject to a single peer review process, of the abstract only. There will be a poster presentation event during the conference but no oral presentation. The format requirements for the posters will be released shortly.

The listed papers will be indexed by databases such as Scopus, whereas the other submission types will not be indexed.

As with previous AFMC conferences, the AFMC 2024 organising committee also plan to work with the International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow to publish a special issue. This will involve an opt-in process by authors, followed by an appraisal of the conference paper and its oral presentation by a special issue panel, led by the IJHFF Special Issue Lead. Authors of the 30 most outstanding contributions which align with the scope of the IJHFF will be invited to make to make a third submission of an extended manuscript, for consideration for publication in this special issue.
